Default while waiting for the adjustment of the ststus

Right now I have a student visa. Just after I get married ( January
2003) I am going to apply for the adjustment of my status, green card.
I wonder if during my waitng time do I have to follow F-1 visa
requirements - go to school, etc? Or if I am waiting for their
decision, I can just wait...be "neutral"?

I am sure that with a J1 student visa, you can continue studying. It is probably the same thing with an F1, but I can not tell you for sure. The best would be to ask this question to the INS if it turns out that nobody has the answer on this forum.

Your choice. However, don't forget that dropping out of school just after
you filed for adjustment of status could throw a little doubt on your
original reasons for getting the F-1. It's not really something to worry
about, just anticipate the question if it arises.
