Right now I have a student visa. Just after I get married ( January
2003) I am going to apply for the adjustment of my status, green card.
I wonder if during my waitng time do I have to follow F-1 visa
requirements - go to school, etc? Or if I am waiting for their
decision, I can just wait...be "neutral"?

Your choice. However, don't forget that dropping out of school just after
you filed for adjustment of status could throw a little doubt on your
original reasons for getting the F-1. It's not really something to worry
about, just anticipate the question if it arises.
