where do i go to get an xray done??

where do i go to get an xray done??
Dr at the urgent care center gave me a prescription to go get some xrays...but didnt tell me where to go!! I wasnt going to bother but i should be able to claim it back and i am in more pain with my chest so would rather get it checked if i can!!!!
So where do i go? do they just have random xray centers around or do i need to go to a hospital?

I'd get out the phone book and look up imaging companies, there are some are usually located near the hospitals. make sure they take your insurance, we were recommended one and they turned us away, all we had to do was cross the parking lot to the next one.

You shouldn't have to go to a hospital for an x-ray. There's usually places in cities that are standalone x-ray facilities or attached to some medical practice.

You should be able to go to any medical center. How far are you from Emory Dunwoody Medical Center on Shallowford Road? I think it is on the south side of the perimeter. There should be an Xray unit there, and you appear to have doctor orders for it. Please keep us updated on your situation.

If it's not covered by insurance - ie you have to pay up front, then likely you'll get a discount....my local place does a 40% off for cash deal. I seem to recall that it cost me about 40 bucks.

Did your Dr give you orders, ie. a lab slip for your x-ray? Many orders have labs/xray places listed on the back. When you do find a place to have your x-ray done, call first to make sure they take your insurance.

Hubby has gone to pick up my hire car (being provided by my insurance) and tomorrow i need to be brave and drive 285 to get to my drs - am having probs with my chest still and am straining to talk and sometimes get my breath
Im pretty sure its just bruised but i wanna get checked again!
