Default What process takes the longest?

I just received a letter in the mail saying that our petition for the
I129F has been approved. It'll be sent to the NVC and then on to the
Embassy. Any idea, even a rough estimate about these? I know it says
it takes about a month for it to be processed through the NVC. How
long is about normal to wait to have to go through the embassy process?
He's in Scotland and we were assuming he'd be going through London.
I'm just shocked because it has only taken 2 months for the petition to
be approved. I kept checking the processing times even though I was
told not to lol and it was saying about 6 months. Think it could be
all worked out and him here (US) by summer time? Would be fabulous to
get him for my birthday!

I also am sending you good wishes for him being here for your birthday. We were approved on April 5th, it cleared NVC April 16th, received at the embassy April 21st, his interview was May 10, he arrived here on May 25th, and we were married on my birthday June 1st. I hope you'll have just as good a birthday present this year as I did in 2004!

Ours worked out so that Sadegh was here in the USA in time for HIS birthday! He arrived April 21, we got married April 29, and his birthday was May 10.

Which Service Center did you send your forms to? I hope mine only takes 2 months to come through.

We did our fiance visa process back in 2003 through CSC and Turkey, so our timeline wasn't anything like yours will be. No sense even comparing them.

Best Wishes,
Rene

I sent my forms to Texas but they were passed along to California.
Good luck to you!

Hi:

It takes as long as it takes. No shorter, no longer. You admit to a lesson in YOUR case that the time estimate was no good -- but on the wonderful side.

I hope the good luck goes on.

Hi Rene:

Reminds me of a very bad joke from my military service in my long ago youth -- a young soldier returned from his one year TDY in Vietnam. When he met with his wife, they were both quite eager and got alone as soon as they were able. In the afterglow, hubby noted that his wife's toes were curled up. Wife noted with a dreamy smile -- "Honey, the pantyhose only stretch so far."
