Default what was my status?

Hi,

I'm starting filling my taxes in the US (first time) and they asked me if
I've been to the US in the past few years and if so, what was my immigration
status during those visit. The answer is yes, I was in Canada and I've been
to the US a couple of time (short 2-3 day visits, scientific meeting...).,
but I've never received any kind of visa for those visits, canadians cross
the borders quite easily with not much questions asked, what kind of status
should I select for those visits? Or should I simply not mention those
visits?

You were a nonimmigrant temporary visitor for business or pleasure. If you were on holiday you were admitted NC (non controlled) or B2 (temporary visitor for pleasure). If for business meetings the you were admitted NC (non controlled) or B1 (temporary visitor for business).

Either way, you should not have received any income from the U.S. during these trips.
