what are my options with green card and marridge?
Hi gurus, I am Indian citizen - received us green card an year ago based on
employment. My wife also got a green card along with me.
Now I am divorceed and wondering what restrictions do I have on marridge? Can I marry
someone outside US? Can I apply green card for new wife? I heard somebody saying it
takes long...What are my options?
Thanks Mak

You can marry anybody you are legally able to marry (that is, only an unmarried woman
of legal age).
>Can I apply green card for new wife?
You can, but there will be a long wait. The priority date for this category is
currently March 1, 1997. So expect to wait five years, or until you are a US citizen,
whichever happens first.

There is one alternative: you can give up your Green Card and apply for a new one
together with your new wife.
