Question What is the interview like in London?

My husband's interview is this Thursday, and we would appreciate hearing your experience if you've been through your interview in London. Thanks much, marzzz

For some excellent reading on other people K1 interviews follow this link.

http://www.kamya.com/interview/k1int_3.html#UK

If you scroll down the list of experiences, there are some very recent ones at the bottom.

Hope this helps

Hi marzzz,
Here is the report of my husband's (then fiance) interview in London on Jan. 6, 2004. (Follow the link below) Some things have changed slightly since he went through the process---namely, they used to actually put the visa in your passport the same day, but now you pay a fee for a "courier" envelope so that they can send your passport to you via courier after the visa is put into it. Other than that, most people have reported an experience very similar to Mr. P's. He entered as a K-1 .

Good luck---as long as all your documents are in order and your case is not a complicated one, things should go just fine. Is your husband staying overnight? The Bryanston Court is a common place to stay. Not fancy but reasonably priced and clean.

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for your link and the hotel might be a good idea. I'll tell my hubsband! BTW, I like your license plate! I may have seen it as it looks vaguely familiar. Cheers!

You're welcome, glad to have helped. As I said in my original post, I can recommend the Bryanston Hotel for location; you'll find plenty of posts about it here, but not for a vacation. I found it really reassuring to be able to see the doctor's office over the road and it's a short walk to the embassy.

I've had my licence plate for a few months now, but I made my avatar at acme.com UK 2 LA and UKNOWLA are in use so if it wasn't me it could be them.

Best of luck with the interview, it's a breeze really!

Oh good! Glad to hear the interview will be easy. It should because we have all his documents in order.

There are lot's of ex-pats so I guess it's not uncommon to see other license plates. But how fun!

I'm so excited my husband will finally be here! Maybe sometime when he gets here we can share notes on yours/his/mine/his experience!?

All the best to you and yours,
Marz aka Marcie

Would be easier for a researcher to have to just look on the K Visa interview pages for this information instead of searching the archives. Is that an incentive I could use to persuade you to post your experiences there?

It is straight forward, nothing to worry about. The problem is the number of people trying to leave Britain that's all, even the medical is straight forward!

Where's that then; K Visa interview pages? Is it a forum I have missed? Do you mean thread not pages? Seems a lot of us have missed that one.

Hooray! Congratulations! It sounds like a great feeling to get through all that, and it good to hear it's fairly simple. So you're flying in Oct.!? Fantastic! Where in the States are you coming to? I'm in California and I can't wait til my husband gets here to be with me. All the best,
Marz
