Default what happens when you're facing divorce?

Sorry if this posts twice, said it didn't post the first time.

Anyway, im a Canadian married to a US citizen for about a year now.
Things havn't been working out that great and we might be facing
divorce unfortantly.

My question is though I am actually in wait for an interview and just
now reapplying to renew my work authorization card.

What happens if I decide that I should just go back to Canada? What
are the proceedures for me to take my name off of everything for the
INS? And will I have trouble traveling to the states if I decide to
after my divorce is final because my marriage didn't work out? Im not
sure how we would go about it. Any thoughts would be of help.

Thanks
