Default What to do about my job

Can any one tell me if a Visa application can be refused if I don't have a
job?

I am currently about to sell my home and therefore have no financial ties
which would also give me a lump sum to settle in the States with my fiance.

However, we are missing each other so bad and I have no more holidays left
at work. I was planning on handing in my notice and going to stay with her
for a number of weeks but was unsure if not having a current job would ruin
my visa chances.

They don't care about your income at all. Of course, there's no guarantees
of getting a visa either - but if you don't it won't be because of *your*
financial situation. Your fiancee's income is all that matters right now.

Well, she is a full time mother so doesn't work. The sale of my home is
going to be the down payment on a property and then I will be finding a job
once there.

Does the fact that she doesn't work then cause a problem??

Getting worried now :0(

Maybe. If you have already addressed the matter of the affidavit of support
with your assets you would be OK. If you haven't you need to look into
getting a joint sponsor:

Well it depends what visa you are going for but if it's the K1 fiancee visa
then the USC needs to provide an Affidavit of Support basically saying you
won't be claiming any benifits. Your fiance needs to earn or have assets
worth more than 125% of the poverty level

Hi,
I'm not sure which country you are posting from, however,
We filed in London, and were already married but it may be relevant.
As Morkai said your fiance still has to sign the affadavit irrespective of her financial status and you may need a co-sponsor.
My wife's US earnings weren't enough for the 125% poverty
line requirements, however I did prove that I had sufficient
equity in my UK property to "make up the difference"
Basically
1/. A letter from the building society showing the amount owed.
2/. I had a letter from the Estate agent valueing my property.
The differential was enough.
I had already put my house on the market and had received an offer prior to the interview.

Of course the INS do reccomend that you don't give up work or sell property prior to being approved (just in case !!) but most of us are "impatient" and want to speed things up and get as prepared as possible and of course assume that we will be approved.

To summorize, my wifes earnings and the equity in my house
were sufficient for the 125% and I got my visa.

Good luck
