What is the best excuse to get advanced parole?
A friend of mine went thru interview (i-485). Officer told him that
everthing looks ok and he will send him a letter in the mail.
It has been a month that he has not received anything in the mail yet.
He wants to go to Vancouver, BC for about a week. He can aply for advanced
parole but there must be a good reason.
If he says someone is seek then he cannot produce a doctor's letter.
Any suggestion?
Thanks.

I don't think an excuse is necessary, just apply for it. AP used to be
only for emergencies but that is not true anymore AFAIK

I don't a certain reason is necessary. We filed for an advanced parole a
couple of years, just to go on vacation. It seems to be a (expensive)
formality.

Is your friend applying for advance parole in the ordinary time frame? See
http://members.aol.com/MDUdall/instimes.htm for ordinary processing times.
If the answer is yes, your friend does not need "a good reason." He wish to
travel, even as a tourist, is generally sufficient.
If your friend wants *expedited processing* of the advance parole
application, faster than the ordinary processing times, then he must provide
evidence of the urgent reason for expedited processing. Visiting for
pleasure is not going to be a urgent enough reason.
