How soon after arrival did you go to the SS office? They have to validate
status with INS

We did it...but still need some help
Well all Arnold is here, he arrived May 18th. We are so happy and thankful. No
problems @ JFK. He was given the temporary work permit at JFK. We tried to go Soc Sec
office to get him a number...they acted like they didn't know what they were doing.
Did we go to soon to the number? He can work with the temp work permit right? What do
we need to file in the meantime, with INS. Basically what happens now? We are getting
married June 22nd. Any help you can offer is appreciated. We would like to know what
do we do next. Thank you all...April and Arnold
