Yesterday I was finally able to view my local INS office (Tampa Bay,
FL) webpage (it's been down since March 1st) and was surprised to see
that not only do you need to file the I-485 in person, but now you
need an appointment! After spending a lot of time trying to get
through, I finally got someone and they gave me an appointment of
April 18th! I have to wait more than a month just to hand in some
forms! I'm really steamed about this. Words of wisdom is to keep on
top of things, especially now. Good luck to all.

if you check
http://www.immigration.gov/graphics/...pa/aboutus.htm
you see that it says appointment only... You should always
check the local INS site. good luck!

Thanks for the tip Bill, this is something we all need to keep in mind. Many
may be thinking about just getting here, forgetting that there are more forms,
fees and waiting after our loved ones are here. But at least they will be here,
right??! lol
take care,
