read here 1 man's experience when he tried to visit while waiting for k-1 approval,
you should especially read if considering marrying on a tourist visa:
Its against US laws to enter while waiting for a K-1 petion! I took your advice
brought every tie to my country I could think of...."NONE OF THAT MATTERED", Because
its against the law to go there untill a decision has been made....The INS officer
showed me in his rule's book...It said in plain english...As of Jan 1999 no entry is
allowed into the US while waiting for a desion of a I-129f (K-1) or I-130.. The
officer told me he was sorry etc.. But he was just doing his job..I asked why other
"POE" were letting people in..He said.. "The reason they are getting in on a K-1
after Jan of 1999, Is because they are not doing there job by keeping up with the new
laws!"I was told by both officers who video tapped me that people are comming in and
just getting married then filling AOS..He then told me they are cracking down on them
aswell...Its going to be harder to file AOS now aswell, If you just go to the US and
get marred...So all I can say is take my advice and stay home untill a decison has
been made in your behalf..I would rather just forget about the last 60 hours!That was
