Visiting the US on a tourist Visa while awaiting K-1 visa
Does anyone know if there are any problems with entering the US (to
visit my fiancee in New York) on a tourist visa while awaiting a K-1 visa. The application for the K-1 has been made but has not progressed yet. I know that I will have to leave the US and return to the UK before the tourist visa expires (up to 90 days) and then re-enter on the K-1 visa when the time comes. I am a British citizen. Many thanks in advance to anyone who replies! |

Which has been discussed repeatedly here. Good luck. ~ Jenney |

Many thanks in advance to anyone who replies! Other than the possibliity that the Officer at the POE might refuse admission, it is perfectly fine. BTW, a refusal of a VWT admission is NOT a formal "removal" -- although I've seen them entered as such in the database in error. Make sure you do not make any misrepresentations -- a "212(a)(6)(C)" finding would be a bad thing indeed. Good luck. |

Just making sure I understand (for interest's sake): anyone who ever misrepresents themself as a US citizen when they are not is inadmissible, and there is no waiver. In other words, it's a lifetime bar? MH |
