Visiting fiancee (Ingo plz look at this)
Hi all,
I'm due to fly out to the US this summer.
I'm a UK citizen.
I've been to the US 4 times and left.
I'm disabled.
What should I say my purpose of visiting is, be truthful and say fiancée?,
say girlfriend, or friend? We have no intention of marrying in the near
future and if we did then settling in the UK is more likely than the US.
As evidence I'm leaving I've got my return tickets, receipt for oxygen (to
and from the US), bank statement to show I have funds enough to cover my
expenses, and doctors note saying that they are expecting me back in UK
after my trip.
I just getting nervous about getting turned away (this in away is on a
similar path as my visa waiver denial question). The last 3 times have all
been in winter, Christmas, so I'm assuming reasons for visiting the US would
be easier, as its a festive period. I'm pretty sure I can convince them if I
go to the 2nd inspection, but I'd like to make the whole process go as
smooth as possible. I also remember Ingo replying to one of my posts (might
have been the visa waiver posting) saying that if I wasn't planning on
getting married on this visit then don't mention the fiancée issue as its
like a red flag.
I just need some advice to calm my nerves!
Gavin

Bring whatever you can to prove you have "ties" back home. A letter from your doctor is a very good thing. A letter from your neighbourhood priest also works, if you don't have an employer. Bills, accounts, leases, all good and useful too.
Don't worry too much. I travel with a service dog and usually get the royal treatment as they want to make my travels as smooth as possible.
Go and have fun!
