US immigrant visa for a spouse
So I'm planning on moving my family to the US next year sometime, and
I'm looking into visa information for my wife. I'm a US citizen, she's
a German citizen and my children have both US and German citizenship.
I'm pretty confused about the process. Do we have to have a residence
in the US first? If our I-130 is approved, can we move to the US
without the actual immigrant visa being approved?
We've heard horror stories of families being separated from one another
for months because of problems with immigration, and this is obviously
something we'd like to avoid. Any and all help would be much
appreciated!
Walter

Re: US immigrant visa for a spouse
DCF forum on www.visajourney.com has all you need.
You will need a US address, you may also need a co-sponsor for your wife.
I am assuming you can file direct with the US Consulate in Germany, otherwise it will be a long wait.
