US embassy london
Ok so two things -
1) my medical at Knightsbridge was on Thursday (14th). My embassy interview is on Wednesday (20th). I assume that they will give me a “successful pending medical results” as the medical results probably won’t be with them in time?
2) my fathers name is not on my birth certificate. Because it’s a Scottish certificate, it is long-form but I will just be honest and say that my mother was 16/17 when I was born and my father was out of the picture and I’ve never met him. I assume this will be alright(?)
So grateful for any help and advice!

If everything else is in order, they will keep your passport and give you a blue form - think it’s called 221g. It will say at the top that your visa can not be approved and somewhere on the form the box will be ticked for medical results. It is, essentially, what you described as successful pending medical results. I received the same form as my medical was on the Monday followed by a Friday interview of the same week. My visa status changed to issued the following Wednesday.

I was approved pending medical, but was not given a 221g. My status changed to "issued" five working days after my interview. Two working days after my visa was issued I had the email from the consulate to say it had been collected by the courier. That email also contained my tracking number.

I was also approved pending medical, and was not given a 221g. Maybe it depends on your circumstances and the visa you're applying for. I was DCF in London for IR-1. So don't be worried if you don't get given one.

Direct Consular Filing, i.e. I didn't have to go via NVC, as my husband was a UK resident, so I could go directly through London (saves time). My visa arrived 2 weeks later, though others have received theirs quicker than that.

Hi, my medical results hadn't come through yet when i went for my interview, but i didn't get given the blue slip. They just told me the visa would be issued once the results got to them. It was issued 2 days later
