INA 212(a)(10)(E) Former citizens who renounced citizenship to avoid taxation.-Any alien who is a former citizen of the United States who officially renounces United States citizenship and who is determined by the Attorney General to have renounced United States citizenship for the purpose of avoiding taxation by the United States is excludable.

I'm not sure what the Attorney General's criteria are though. I imagine the person must owe a lot of money in taxes or have a significant income to get their attention.

Excludable... well, that pretty much guarantees that that llbeeno will never again return to the US... even as a visitor. At times, it truly amazes me the sort of stupid things people do!

To be fair the children sound like they have 2 citizenships.

And I know we can forget it, but the US is not the whole world. I have never been to Sweden for example.

You go to the consulate and tell them to take your US passport and shove it.

I take it to mean excludable from renouncing citizenship

not excluded from the country.

I didn't ask how it was possible, I asked how the OP did it.

I considered that, but it didn't make any sense. I think it'd be damn near impossible for the US to force you to remain a USC.

I agree. It's in the 212(a) grounds of inadmissibility along with everything else that can keep someone out of the US. The 212(a) grounds only apply to aliens and not US citizens.
