Default unemployment and i-864

Hi,

My wife lost her position yesterday. She worked in NY and we live in
NJ. She has now conditional green card. Can she file for unemployment
benefits? Will I have, as her sponsor to pay them back?

If she has filled the requirements for unemployment, she can file and receive benefits. They are not means tested benefits but an insurance benefit that her employer paid in case of unemployment.
