Default UK Passport Due to Expire

Hi all, haven't posted here in absolutely ages, hope everyone's good

We've been in Texas 2 1/2 years, married for nearly as long and we had a baby boy 10 months ago My eldest son and I received our conditional green cards (adjusted from K1/2 visas) in August 2015.

Just need a tiny bit of advice. We're travelling back to the UK for 2 weeks in May. My husband and baby boy will have their US passports, I'll have my UK passport that doesn't run out 'til 2022, but my eldest son's UK passport runs out in November so he'll only have 5 months left on it when we travel back to the US.

I *think* he'll be ok as he'll obviously have his green card to wave at CBP but will he have a problem boarding the flight from the UK? Would prefer to wait til later in the year to renew his passport if possible :-/

Thanks everyone!

British citizen passport holders don't require six months remaining validity in order to travel to the US, only validity for the length of their proposed trip. Your son's Green Card would trump that anyway.

This is irrelevant to your trip. What you're describing deals with getting a visa... not travelling. He has a UK passport to get to the UK, and he has a green card to get back to the US. That's all he needs.

None at all.

You could renew his passport any time from February/March onwards and not lose any validity. As far as I recall the UK passport office carries forward up to 9 months of validity from a previous passport.
