Default From UK, marrying US citizen currently living in EU

Does this make things even more complicated? Would we be better off waiting
till its time for him to move back to the US and do the K1 process (does he
have to be living in the US when we apply?)? Or would it be better to marry
either in the UK or Germany, and then go over on a spouse visa. We cant decide
which is best! If anyone has any ideas or experiences, please let us know.
Thanks

Just a tip: if you marry now and then want to apply for spouse visa in
the UK, the US citizen will HAVE to be a resident in order to do this.
Otherwise, you would have to apply via the US service center. IF you ARE
a UK resident, then marriage now and filing directly at the UK consulate
would be quicker and the spouse would enter the US already adjusted to
resident status (less paperwork and quicker green card)

There may be another, more efficient way for the two of you.

I'm a USC, married a UKC while both of us were in Greece. Recently returned to the US with my husband on an Immigrant Visa. Saved us many many steps and separation.

Terms to look for on this newsgroup include: DCF or Direct Consular Filing.

Search for posts of mine from early 2002

Read through DCF: Which Visa? at this website:
http://www.mindspring.com/~docsteen/...o/visainfo.htm

K1/K3 visa will typically guarantee you be separated for 6-12 months. If you're both in Europe, please look into this unique situation that you can benefit from.

Thanks for your advice Its made even more complex as he is in the military
and though is due to be in germany for the next 3 years, could get sent
anywhere pretty much any time. This is all so complicated! Oh well. He's worth
it
