When the time comes to submit anything, your marriage certificate will prove that you're married.

Nothing that happened prior to the marriage is relevant. You're not required to demonstrate an ongoing relationship. You're required to demonstrate a bona fide marital relationship - so the only evidence that's relevant is from the date of the marriage onward.

The only thing we have never had is property leases or a joint bank account due to us not finding it necessary.

You've clearly given lots of thought into the upcoming steps. I'm excited for you that you'll be able to marry and file the I-130 so quickly!

Rene and Ian have given you good advice (of course). Take a deep breath and put down most of those things you've collected. The instructions will tell you precisely what you need, and while it's good to have more than is necessary, you've gone a bit overboard. :rofl: My husband and I included a few photographs, some affidavits from relatives, evidence of a few trips back and forth, and honestly not much more than that. Like you, we didn't (still don't) have any joint finances whatsoever, but it didn't cause any issue for the I-130 petition.

There are instructions, too, on how to collate everything for the package.

Just keep reading! Stay on this forum, read everything you possibly can about marriage-based visas, familiarise yourself with the wiki and you'll soon see the blinkers come off and it'll all become a bit more simple.
