Hi there,
I recently received the EAD from our local BCIS office. I was sent fingerprinting appointment after a week of receiving EAD. I am suppose to appear at ASC Norfolk, VA for my fingerprinting appointment.
Now it's a silly question, but I was wondering if it is okay to go to my fingerprinting alone, since my spouse can't take another off from work? According to the fingerprinting notice, the presence of USC spouse is not required. Please advise.
Regards,
-Janousek

You don't need your spouse. I didn't bring mine, but I wish I had. My
fingerprint appointment was almost a complete disaster. Tulsa - where I got
them done - smears all your fingers (and thumbs) with black ink to do the
prints (I think some of them do it electronically now?), I took off my
wedding ring because I didn't want to get ink on it (the way mine is
designed, it is a complete pain to clean). Well, after spending 10 minutes
cleaning up my fingers, I accidentally left the place with my wedding ring
still sitting on the counter. I had a mild heart attack as I noticed this
driving along the Interstate about 8 miles away from the location. Needless
to say, I made our poor SUV do things it was NOT designed to do to get back
there ASAP! U-turn on the Interstate, 95+ MPH, rally racing on city
streets, oops....The guy that got his fingerprints done after me was an
honest man and gave my ring to the officer doing the prints....so I did get
it back....what a relief....I still don't know how I would have explained
that!
just thought I would tell you this so you could relax ... besides the mess,
fingerprinting is a breeze, and you don't need your spouse.

Janousek,
Why is it, I wonder, that so many people want to rely on the opinions of total strangers, many of whom are more ignorant than themselves, rather than follow the instructions provided?
My advice is believe the instructions.

I went on my own - no biggie. In fact I had to go back a second time
because the first set came back unclassifiable.
