Yes, many visa applicants have had to undergo adminsitrative processing.

They have had my passport for 3 weeks now and im getting quite upset about this to say the least.

Does anybody have any experience of this?
If you have a need for the passport, or think you may have a need for it, ask to get it back. If you're comfortable that you will not have a need for it, and are comfortable not having it in your possession, leave it with the consulate.

I do not have an immediate need for it but it is more being worried about it taking several months.

I am thinking maybe it would be better to leave it with the consulate for them to be able to process quicker. Just really confused at the moment

It wont make it go any quicker, nothing can at this point. It really is a sit and wait job, it could be a month, it could be a year.

Sorry I meant quicker from the point it gets approved again/complete for them to issue the visa. I think I will give it another 2 weeks and then ask for the passport back.

Is there any rule regarding me travelling to the US on a valid esta whilst K1 is undergoing AP?

You would need to redo ESTA and indicate that you have a visa denial. If ESTA is approved, you're free to travel.

Hmmmm....the decision is still pending, though. It hasn't been denied. Is a pending decision still considered a denial for ESTA purposes?

I believe it is, yes... because any application that is not clearly approved, is considered denied. If he's in AP, then the application is clearly not approved.

I guess I will give it 10 working days from today and then ask for my passport back. I am hoping 5 weeks should be enough but guess you just can never tell

I check the AP report on the consulate website and my case no does not appear on it. Should it be showing on there?

So I just realised I do not have a batch number for AP. I am assuming this is because I was not issued a 221g. Is there anyway I can this so I can look at the weekly report if/when my case is put on that list on the consulate website

Not to my knowledge, no. The ConOff would have given it to you at your interview if you had one.

Hi Guys

Quick question

My I129f has a NoA date of 13th June 2012 and medical 29th Jan 2013

When will both of these expire? Just worried the AP carries on for quite a while

The medical will expire on 29th July (6 months). I've never seen an AP case before, so I don't know if you will need to have another if it isn't completed by then.

You don't need to worry about the actual petition.
