I have noticed on a K-1 website that the inclusion of the I-134 affidavit of
support is optional at time of application but required during the fiancé
interview (most likely over six months difference from what I am reading).
I will be submitting through the Nebraska service center and was wondering
if there is any history about the inclusion or exclusion of the I-134. I
prefer to put off the submission of the I-134 due to current employment
status. If I can prolong the submission of the I-134, I can avoid a
co-sponsor. However, if process time can be reduced, I will include the
I-134 with co-sponsor. Any information?

There is absolutely no reason to provide NSC with an affidavit of support. the respective embassy asks that the beneficiary bring the I-134 to the final interview. Until that time, there is no reason to feel compelled to provide anyone else with this document.

Inclusion of the I-134 is not optional by the BCIS as it is not a requirement for the approval of the I-129F. If you include it, you have absolutely no assurance that the I-134 will be forwarded with the approved I-129F paperwork to the US Consulate. However, it is a requirement for the interview. Send it to your fiancee and have her bring it with her to the interview.
