drawing close, YAY! Anyway...wanna know...are the affidavit's necessary? Or will

My strategy has always been provide whatever the INS asks for and some. Just give
them everything they may want to see. However, if your evidence of co-mingling of
finance is overwhelming, the lack of the affidavits is not going to get you a denial.
So basically, it's for you to decide. The instrucitions on the I-751 does mention the
affidavits. Ranjini

My understanding is that a denial isn't a very common occurence with i-751. The
denials usually happen alot sooner in the process. You REALLY have to screw something
up to get denied at the 751 stage.

for an inter view. At which point I should mention, that even people who have
provided all the necessary evidence, including the affidavits, have SOMETIMES been
called for interviews. The reason? Only the INS knows!! Ranjini "James Donovan"

The interview thing for I-751 is very strange. I was told at the Chicago office that
they interview everyone for an I-751, but what from what I've seen on this news
group, that is not the norm with other offices.

It probably explains why the application takes two and a half years in Chicago,
rather than less than a year elsewhere.

Mmmm. My I-751 was approved through Nebraska without interview. Of course, I still
have to take a drive to get the new green card.

Thanks. That's great! Do you have a copy of the format of your affidavits from your
friends by any chance?

Somehow, I don't believe the Chicago Office interviews everyone for I-751. Maybe you
should check on that. For the simple reason, it's the Service Center that has
jurisdiction over Chicago that forwards a petition to the field office for interview.
Otherwise, it's approved direct from the Service Center itself. Are you thinking of
the Adjustment inteview, by any chance??? We were approved at Nebraska Service Center
without an interview. Ranjini

That one is quite simple to answer. SOmetimes they may not see enough evidence and
may want to see more. This might happen where someone only sent like the form and a
joint bank statement or something like that. It could also happen where the
demographic factors come into play, like age difference.

Also, I believe that INS also selects a small random sample for interviews. This is
just to fulfill a "quota" they have.

You mean to get your stamp, because AFAIK the green card is mailed to you.
