USCIS requested more info in support of the I-485...all of which is being submitted next week. The new lawyer wanted to wait until we had the new lease in hand, which we got last week, so she could submit it also (addressing the domicile issue..as I work in Canada currently). I also registered a Limited Liability Company in Florida and she will submit that information as well to support comicile.
According to the USCIS website (when I do a status check) it seems that everything is held in limbo until they receive the requested information...which I assume to mean that there can be no interview scheduled until they receive it and move the case forward. We filed the AOS etc. in Feb., received and receipted by USCIS on Feb. 26.

My best guess now is, assuming USCIS receives the requested information within a week from now, another one or two months before interview??? It's also frustrating that that my wifes authorization to work is held up as well. Any ideas on that?

This is true.

This is also true that the EAD is held up, because issuing an EAD depends on a properly filed I-485. They will review your RFE and then if it's complete, they'll process the EAD.

No guesses on when an AOS interview might be. Look at the processing times for you local office, and add a month or two for the RFE issue, that might give you some idea.
