Default SSN

My AOS recently was approved and i have received my green card. I promptly started applying for jobs and got an interview, hired, background check and orientation start all within 3 days however i was wondering when i arrived on the K1 visa i got a ssn that had the valid for work with DHS authorization only on it. Am i allowed to use this ssn for work purpose now that i have my 2 year green card? Will i have to go and ask for another card without it, and if so, do i keep my number? My orientation is tomorrow and im supposed to bring all my documents so im hoping i can use it still.

Default Re: SSN

Yes, you can show your current SS Card, your green card overrides the legend on it. But at your convenience, it's best to go in person to the SS office and order a card without the legend. You will keep the same SSN.

Default Re: SSN

Your SSN is yours for life, come and go from the US, change status, become a citizen, leave the US and give up your citizenship, return on a work visa. You name it, nothing will change your SSN, it's yours, full stop, ... barring you entering the witness protection program!
