I need to get a SS number for my daughter when she and my wife arrive. I know my wife (Mom of 3) will need to get her EAD first (and I can get her an ITIN for this year's tax return) however, my daughter needs a SS number for many other things (school, college plan etc).

Will the Social Security Administration assign my 7 year old daughter a Social Security Number immediaely since she is not going be applying for an EAD?

Get your step daughter an ITIN as well. She can use that in place of the social security number in most instances. You can probably talk to the school and have them waive the need for a SSN until she is granted residency and can apply for a SSN. She will need the ITIN for your tax return as well if you are planning on claim your step daughter as a dependent on your return.
