Default Sending paperwork to Embassy (UK) before approval from INS??

I was looking at the Embassy's website, and it said that the papers could be sent to
the Embassy before the approval from the INS came through. Do we have to fax them a
copy of the 1st NOA or what?

Thanks in advance, I know I have LOTS of questions.

If you call the embassy, they will send you a packet with the forms you need and
instructions. Our experience with them was a lot better than with this end.

Cheryl,
I'm a bit confused, what papers can be sent before INS approval.
Let me know at what stage you are at and I'll try to help.
Although I went the spousal "route" much of it is the same, and
if I'm not sure I will tell you

I submitted my forms in the UK at the same time as my fiance sent hers into the US.
If your forms are ok they open a provisional file for you and give you a case number
(you only know this by calling them, they don't send you anything). They don't do
anything else until your approval arrives from the US.

Side note: It was taking ages for my approval to come over from California so I wrote
a letter to the embassy. They told me to get my fiance to send her 2nd NOA directly
to them. She fed-exed it across and I got my interview date about a week after they
signed for it.

I would say, send in your forms straight away as there will be minimal time between
your approval in the US and your interview date being sent to you.

Yes, you can send the visa application forms to the embassy before you have the petition approval from the INS. Make sure you have an adequate cover letter explaining that you have a petition in the system (filed on such and such a date).

I am doing all the paperwork for my brother (US Citizen) and my future sister-in-law
(UK Citizen). We have already sent in the I-129F to the Texas Service Center and
received the first NOA. On the Embassy's website, it says you can go ahead and fill
out and return the DS-230, DS-156 and DS-156K to the Embassy before the 2nd NOA comes
in from the INS. She can go ahead and send in the UK/85 also, correct?

When you sent in the papers, did you include a coversheet or anything to let them
know ahead of time what was going on?

Thanks again, Cheryl

Absolutely! Do attach a short cover letter if you are sending in forms on your own initiative.
