Unfortunately we have been waiting for an RFE to be sent and despite being told
(three times) that it had been posted to us on the 3rd May it was recieved by my
Californian fiancee only yesterday (May 23rd)....and postmarked the day before.
Anyhow , on recieving it we find that we have been requested to send a copy of my
decree absolute. This is disappointing since we had already included that document in
our original petition. I am aware that it is not unheard of for items that have been
sent to me missed by the INS and requested again but it is obviously very
frustrating. Our only thoughts are that , despite taking great care in putting
together the original petition , we had managed somehow to miss the part on the INS
site on the net detailing the way they would like a petition to be submitted (use
ACCO fasteners etc !!)....I'll bet we're not the first to discover helpful
information like this just after we submitted !! Hopefully things will now run
smoothly !
