RFE after sending in I-90

RFE after sending in I-90
Got home from work Friday to find a letter from USCIS. They want me to send 2 passport style photos to them. I remember someone else also getting an RFE for that after they sent in their I-90, but I think they were also asked to go get their biometrics retaken. I wonder if I'm going to get another letter for that as well?
Is the new photos pretty common? Because I think I remember someone saying that they basically have to restart your whole AOS case again or something when you need a replacement GC? So that's why they don't have photo or fingerprints on file anymore?
Anyone else have any experience with RFE after I-90? I wonder how long it'll take from here on out. I'm just glad there's some motion on my case! Even if I have the hassle of jumping through extra hoops due to THEIR error.
