Hi Gang! Have a question regarding a potential timeline.
My AOS interview is sked for September 8th -- by that time I will have been married more than 2 yrs.
If all goes well, I presume I have a shot at 'unconditional' permanent residency (cross fingers all goes well!)
Could I potentially apply for citizenship Sep 2006? Am just wondering how the 'apply 3 years after residency' works if you go straight into unconditional residency.
thoughts? Gracias!

The second you enlist in the military, you can apply for naturalization.
If your wife will be working temporarily for a US company abroad, you can apply immediately under 319(b).
Otherwise, please note that September 2006 is only ONE year past September 2005, not three.
I hope this helps.

Thanks -- I figured that would be the case. I recall reading an AOS experience posting here where the applicant was told by the CIS officer that he would be able to apply for citizenship in a year since he had been married for two years when the interview took place.
didn't sound right, so thought I'd check in!
A.
