Can anyone tell me what is the procedure for renewing the AP and EAD.
Also, how long before the expiry date is a safe time to apply for renewal?

depends where you are, but for denver this is what they say about renewals of EAD's:
Applications for renewal employment cards must be recieved 90 days prior to the expiration date to allow sufficient processing time by the NBC. Customers still have the option of filing electronically. See www.bcis.gov for more information on determining eligibility for E-Filing
