Removal of conditional basis - Los Angeles
Hi all,
Received a letter approving removal of conditional status this morning (yay!)
I have to go down to the LA office to obtain a new green card. However I don't
have a fixed appointment - it tells me to go anytime.
It doesn't list a suite (at least I think it doesn't - 2050 is listed under the
address - maybe that's it)
Anyway - my question - Do I need to go down and stand in line from around
midnight - or can I just go directly in ? Anyone know ?

Congratulations!
How long time it took since the day you filed the I-751 form? Did you
have an interview?

The stamp is done on a "walk-in" basis in room 2050. You need NOT get there at 1:00 a.m.
When you get to the building at 300 North Los Angeles, there will be TWO entrances -- get in the line [if any] to the RIGHT of the main entrance. Do NOT get in the immigration only line to the LEFT of the main entrance -- that line is to get into room 1001.
Any line to the Right is for clearing security only. Word of warning -- treat the security like you would boarding an airline with one addition -- unlike the airlines, you are absolutely prohibited from bringing in any cameras -- this includes photo enabled CELL PHONES. Even though this apparent security loophole may exist at airports, it does not exist to get into the Federal Building.
Once past security, take the bank of elevators on the RIGHT to the second floor [I take the stairs -- but the door to the stairway is not labeled]. From the second floor elevator lobby -- go to the adjacent hallway and turn right -- the hallway is quite short and room 2050 is straigth ahead of you.
When you get into room 2050 -- the guard will direct you to the correct window. If he is not there, go to the window to the very left -- there may be a line - and drop off the appointment. You will be called in short order. If there is no one at the window, just wait -- someone will come in short order. [The line to the right is for advance parole -- don't get in it].

One year to the day! (The actual date of receipt of my I 751 was March 13th
2003.
We had an interview for the conditional green card but have been approved
without interview for this part.
