You need to get a new passport, and then either apply for an extension using form
I-129, or leave and re-enter the US while your visa is still valid.

Get a new passport before the nine months are up. Be sure to also keep your old one,
since the visa remained valid. Then either apply for an extension of the H-1B, or
leave the US and come back. You must leave the US or file the extension before the
nine months are up - otherwise, you fall out of status.
