Recent NYC POE Experiences?

Dekka is coming home next week and, after many many discussions, to maximize the chances of him being able to find work (he has a lead on a gig out here) he is traveling backwards across the entire world so that he can enter through JFK instead of Los Angeles.
I've already checked Kamya and this site - does anyone have any recent (i.e. 2 months) experiences with JFK as the port of entry?

Hi Dekka,
The last posts I've read on NYC POE were all successful in getting the 90
day EAD stamp, but not the card. Salva will be coming through JFK just for
that reason.

Well my wife entered JFK in December 2002. I know it is not within the
2 month period, but I thought I will post it up here. Her and I
travelled, to NY, together, from her home country, so I have a bit of
a info.
First when you enter JFK, they will break you up in two lines. One for
visa/tourists and then the second line is for Green Card
holders/Citizens. My wife had to stand in the visa line. Basically,
the customs agents try to finish the citizens line first, and then
they look through the tourist/visa line.
When it was my wifes turn, she handed her brown envelope to the agent,
he looked at it, and did some paperwork, and sent her into an office.
She went in, waited for about 15 minutes or so, and the agents(in the
office) gave her a valid K1 visa(The I-94 stuff) to enter the country.
When she asked about work authorization, the agent replied, you have
to go to BCIS(then INS) for that. But after examining the back of
I-94, in her passport, it seems that they did stamp "Work Authorized"
red stamp on there... so long story short, she did have the 90 day
work authorization.
Now we are just waiting on the EAD.. we are now on 150+ days in NYC.
Gonna go the Federal Building next week, and try to get her EAD.
Enjoy,
Harry
