Default Received email from FBI ( name-check) Question.

This is for my friend. She received an email response from FBI saying
that her namecheck was complete. In fact she already received her Green
card in June 2005. She asked me that the email said that the namecheck
was completed twice. I didn't understand and she sent me the snippet of
the email (pasted below). I believe that her name check was complete
and then she did not get intervied and then the name-check timed out
and they had to ask for one more name check

Any ideas. She got her GC from Miss. Service Center. even though she had
applied in NYC in early 2002.

"...The FBI completed a name check for you on May 15, 2003, and also on
April 8,
2005. The results were forwarded to the United States Citizenship and
Immigration Services Headquarters, Washington, D.C..."

Thanks
Jim.

Hi Jim,

If she made an FBI email inquiry at any point, this might be in response to that. It takes FBI about 4 to 6 months to reply to an email inquiry. That would make sense, if she made an inquiry, got her green card after that, and is now getting the response to her inquiry.

Other than that, it seems irrelevant now, since she has her GC already.

Best Wishes,
Rene

I think you missed the point of the question. Yes she had made an
inquiry. but the question really was that why was the name check
cleared TWICE?

Since the name checks are 2 years apart, perhaps one was for her visa and one was for her green card? Or, perhaps one was for her conditional green card and one was for her 10-year green card? Without knowing the details of her case, it's hard to tell for what reason the checks were done. But checks are done at every stage of immigration, so it doesn't surprise me they were done twice, and will actually be done again when she goes for citizenship (if she does).

I think you missed the point of the question. Yes, my friend had sent a
query but her question to me was "Why was the name check done TWICE"
