Ready, set, wait...
Hello, I'm hoping someone can offer some advice. My fiance and I were
all set to submit our K-1 visa application when his company suggested
that they may be willing to let him come over on his L-1. He was over
here last year on the same visa when we met, and we have been long
distance since July of last year. From what I can gather, we can get
married if he's here on his L-1 (which expires in November 2007, but he
should be able to extend it), but my question is would there be any
advantage to the K-1 instead? I can see lots of downsides to it, and
have gone over and over them in my head, but I'm just wondering if
someone had a reaction to one or the other. He's very marketable so I
believe he could get another job fairly easily if he had to give his
up. I'm also wondering if travel outside the US after we get married
and apply for AOS is easier with one or the other. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.
