Default Quick DCF question

If the marriage occurred in America, can we theoretically DCF through London?

Would the petitioner have to petition at the London consulate in person?

Thanks,

Kath

Kath,
Place of marriage matters not for DCF.
I know that London does most DCF by post. Typically, the USC petitions 'in person'. I've always wondered to what lengths London goes to prove the petitioner is 'really there'.

Still working on it, eh?

Thanks Meauxna.

I tore the DCF process apart piece by piece, but decided to come back to it after a while with a fresh view.

You never know, maybe we can find a way through the minefield!

We are now looking to marry on my next trip to see him (end March/beg. April), with a blessing in the UK! That would give us two months' advantage on our previous K3 plan! If there was any way for us to DCF, it would provide us with even less of a wait.

Can you believe we'll be married in less than 8 weeks????? Scream!!

Kath (feeling all warm and fuzzy )

I think the consulate expects one to send the petition and proof of
residence by post. If you can overcome the residence hurdle I suppose it
is possible, theoretically. I did DCF in the UK without any 'Leave to
Remain' stamp in my passport but I did have a valid UK work permit and
would have used it as proof of my status if necessary (I had been living
in the UK for over 3 years by the time we filed)
