QUESTIONS WITH REGARDS TO APPLYING TO MOVE TO THE USA
Recently my wife submitted the initial documentation to have me move to the
USA from Canada. The return documentation received to date indicates that
the process will take 550 to 620 days. Does it really take this long for
the process before I can move? Or is this a generic statement.
If we apply as a K3 with a work request, how long does this process take?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I-130 takes about that much time to get processed. you are lucky -- in Texas Service Center -- 999 days. Yes, you can go ahead and apply for K3 visa (I-129 takes a lot less time to process), if you cannot enter to see your wife on a non-immigrant visa.
