Hi,
I am an International student (Australia) on F1 visa and am currently on
status. I am getting married to a US citizen in about two weeks. I want to
be able to work here in the US so that I can support my wife. How do I go
about doing it?
If someone can point me to the proper procedures, I'd be really grateful for
their efforts.
Sincerely,
Edward Walker

since you are getting married to a USC, you are eligible to apply for AOS, work permit, and travel document concurrently with I-130 (application for immigrant visa). You will receive your work permit in about 3 months after applying. Good luck!
To sponsor you for immigration, your wife has to show a certain income level, which you will find outlined in I-864. If she doesn't have enough money/income, she can enlist a co-sponsor, such as a relative or a friend. Sponsors and co-sponsors have to be either USC or LPR.

Hey, I am in the mood to guide you. BTW, I know ver little bout
immigration laws but I know a bit about family petitioning.
Go to http://uscis.gov, click on "Getting Greencard", clcik on
"Immigration through a family member", and read there. Also read. "How
Do I", etc.
In summary, your wife will file Petition suing I-130 form, and you
will apply for greencard usign I-485 form to adjust status since you
are inside US. Your wife must provide sponsor (I forget form number)
with your I-485 application (if she doesn't have enough money, she can
get someone co-sponor you). Along with I-485 application, you can
apply for work permit using I-765 form.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Your wife petition application (I-130) AND your
application for greencard (I-485 form) can be filed at thesame time.
hence, you can turn in Work Permit application as well. In fact, you
can also apply for Advanced Parole for travel outside US (using I-131
form) at the time of I-485 application.
Be aware that immigration will check whether your marraige is a real
one or not.

You need to file I-130, I-485, all supporting docs and EAD/Parole request.
Pnce you get your EAD, you can get SS# and find a job. On average,
depending on the location of filing, EAD takes anywhere from 2 weeks to 90
days. Please e-mail me @ [email protected] if you need help with the family
petition/green card.

I already have a SSN since I worked on campus. Will that expedite the
process? BTW, I go to UNLV and will get married in Las Vegas, so fast will
the process be?

no, it will not expedite your immigration, but it will cut down the time until you can start working, since you don't have to wait to get SSN.
