questions from Cdn on TN1

I'm currently on a TN1 permit. I've been in California at one position
on annual contracts for a little over 3 years and recently got new
employment. Last TN-1 was granted mid-March 2004. I've dating a
wonderful young lady down here for nearly 9 months and we've discussed
marriage a little bit and I'd like to be well-prepared should we
decide to "take the leap".
Is there a FAQ anywhere that I can read about Canadians wishing to
pursue marriage to a US citizen, that outlines step-by-step the 'best'
approach and average timelines from start to finish, any 'gotchas',
changing status, whether I can get married while on a TN-1, or if I
should cancel it and apply for a K1, or whatever???
Feel free to Email me since there seems to be an awful lot of traffic
in this newsgroup

I can't say that what we did was the easiest way to go about things, but it seemed the most convenient at the time.
I wish you luck

What was involved with immigration before/after the wedding? How long
is the paperwork 'supposed' to take, or 'expected' to take?
What's an "EAD renewal"? I don't think I know what "EAD" means.
