Hi
My 2 years of being married to a US citizen arrives on Oct 22. Next
month is the time for me to apply to get my conditions lifted. I have
a problem though. The initial evidence required is a copy of my green
card. Well, I haven't received it yet. As the date in my passport on
the I-551 stamp was running out last October, I went to the local INS
shop and got another I-551 stamp valid to Oct 11 2003. I sent a form
to Texas (can't remember the title of the form) asking about the
status of my green card, but as of yet I haven't had any reply. A
couple of questions are needed to be answered:
1. What do I do about not having my green card when I need to send in
the I-751?
2. Should I go to the local office and try and get my I-551 extended
so I can still work?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
