Thank you for the info on DCF. Couple more quick questions (since you are so
knowledgable!) or anyone else that can answer these:
1. if i am unemployed and submit a i864, and all three tax returns so more than
enough income, will that be sufficient?
2. If this is done in April, do I have to submit 2003 tax returns or is
2000-01-02 ok?
3. If i use a cosponsor, they live in a different state, is that ok?
THanks!

2. You might need 2003, maybe you can just call and ask, but you are close to needing 2003
3. It doesn't matter what state the co-sponor is in.

1)I was unemployed at the time I submitted the i-864. Like you, my income was sufficient in the previous 3 years. The CO did speak with me about my employment history and *future*. She specifically asked me about job offers and my plans once I returned to the US. My answers satisfied her.
2)I had filed for an extension, so our return was not technically due (2001 return) and we simply included a letter explaining that fact. No problem with that, in other words, you do not have to submit 2003 returns if they are not yet due.
3)The co-sponsor can live anywhere in the US, as long as they are a USC or PR. Note on using our co-sponsor: if I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have turned in my co-sponsor affidavit. My assets in the US, my husband's assets in the UK and his pension income put us *well* over the top. I just got nervous at the boilerplate language from the CO that indicated we could potentially be denied at the POE. I now believe that it would not have been a problem for us and wish I didn't have my co-sponsor on the hook.
