Question on Alien Number

Question on Alien Number
Hi All,
I'd appreciate some input on behalf of my friend, Sadia. Her fiance arrived from Pakistan on a K1 3 weeks ago. They will be getting married this weekend (contrats to them!) He started filling out the AOS forms and realized he doesn't have an Alien number anywhere on his visa, but he has a number starting with F.
Is it common NOT to be issued an A number when you get a K1 visa? Should he leave the questions asking for an A number blank? At what point will he be issued an A number, then? Is the F number perhaps a mistake and need to be cleared up with USCIS? (please say no to this one!..lol)
Any advice is appreciated. They're a little worried about not having an A number.

It's best not to rush through the forms when filling them out. It's also best to search the forum for information. We took more than 2 weeks to fill out our forms. There are some helpful books on immigration and how to fill out the forms, that you may find at the local library.
Don't be in a big hurry to get the forms in, if it takes another 3 weeks before you mail it to get it right, you'll save time in the long run.

They aren't rushing through the forms. They just wanted to get a little head start so they can file as soon as possible after the marriage - which I'm sure many of us on here do. They wanted to get as much done as possible before he starts working (which he did today). I'm sure they will take their time with the forms, but one of the first questions is asking for the A number. Since all my other friends who had alien fiance's come in, all had A numbers upon arrival, we found it unusual that he didn't, and thus my question.
I know it's best to search the forum. After having been on here for a year and a half, I have not yet seen a question relating to A vs. F numbers on visas - and thus I posted my question.
Just basically curious as to why he wasn't issued an A number, and at what point down the road he will be issued one.

The A# is on the NOA he should have received for the K1.
