Question about removal of conditions
Hi all
Me and the wife were wondering, when time comes for our removal of the
conditional status after the 2 years, how will the INS look at the foreign
spouse not having held a job for long periods at a time, if ever? If anyone
have any experience with this.
The thing is, my wife, who is the US citizen, has odd hours and she really
doesn't want me to work unless I can find a job more or less within those
hours as well. We have spent 3 years waiting to be together and she is very
touchy feely about this. I want to work but she really really wants me
around when she's off work.
We're just wondering, if INS will look less favorable on this when time
comes for the removal of conditions or something like that.
As a sidenote she alone fulfils the income requirements.
Thanks in advance

Many spouses don't work. Its not abnormal.
There is no requirement that a permanent resident, male or female, work.

It's not even an issue.
As a side note, if you want to work, maybe you can find something at
least part time that will fit in with her schedule.

That's what we were thinking too, doing a part time job so it doesn't
interfere too much.
Thanks for the information.

Hej Thomas - er du dansk?
I dont see that having any importance at all. I think in many instances you'll find that the LR do not have a job and since your wife (still?) meets the income requirements, you should be fine.
But dont you wanna work & bring in some cash, no matter what she really really wants?? Sorry, not my business - just had to ask, I guess.

Ja, jeg er dansk lol.
Anyways, I really do want to work, we were just worried if it had any impact
on our removal of the conditions in about 2 years time.
Not many jobs available here, very very small town but I'm not picky though
) Just those darn hours.....lol
Thanks again for all your help guys )
