Default Question about NOA2 for I-129f

Hey all,

Quick question around the I-129f - we're sending this off soon (There was a slight delay, but we sorted it out and we're almost ready to send) - can anyone tell me how long it usually takes (I know theres no set duration) to get the NOA2? My second question - when we do get the NOA2, am I able to choose when my medical/interview is? I only ask because my work can be quite unpredictable with project deadlines and such.

It would just sort of suck if I got an interview date through and it collided with work commitments.

Also - when we receive the NOA2 - is there any set timeframe that we have to get the medical/interview done by?

Thanks

Currently taking about 5 months for I-129F approval, I believe.

You set your own medical appointment, but the embassy sets your interview date, and it's best not to change it.

The NOA2 will be valid for 4 months, but extending that is not a problem. Don't freak out when you see an expiration date on it.

Hey Rene,

Thanks for this - so when the NOA2 comes through - do I then book my medical, then the Embassy sets the interview date after my medical has been completed? So hypothetically if the NOA2 comes through, I have 4 months to get my medical done - then once my medical is done, I get my interview appointment?

You need your LND case number in order to book your medical. NVC assigns the LND case number, so you can't book the medical immediately upon getting the NOA2.

But otherwise, you have it right. You book the medical, apply for the visa, and send the embassy your readiness form. When the embassy receives the medical results and your forms, then they schedule your interview.

You are meant to have your interview before the NOA2 expiration date, but as I said, don't stress about that. Ours took longer and it was not an issue at all. The ConOff simply extends the validity at the visa interview.

Awesome - I'm pretty sure it won't be an issue. Am I also right in thinking that after the interview, and after the K1 has been approved - I have six months to enter the United States with the K1 visa?

6 months from the date of the medical exam. A good reason not to have the medical done too long before you're actually ready to interview.
