Question about applying for wife -
Hi All,
I've applied for citizenship last year and am still waiting for my interview letter. I applied in May 2003, and the latest web-site status shows it's taking between 750 days and 999 days. The letter that I got from the INS office says 365 days. Which one is more accurate? There seems to be a big discrepancy between the two.
My local office is Orlando, FL. The service center is Texas.
Few questions I have:
I was wanting to wait until I get my citizenship before applying for a spousal visa for my wife. But now it seems like I still have to wait a little longer.
Is there a way I can apply for her to come over based on my current status, which is a Greencard? She is a British
citizen. If so... what application do I have to fill out and how long will this process take? What other options do I and my wife have so that she can come here sooner.
Thanks in advance for the help

There is no other marriage based visa she can get.

I don't believe there's much you can do - only a US citizen can sponsor a spouse.

Wrong answer. An Permanent Resident can file an I-130 for a spouse or
minor child for an IR/CR visa, Not that it will be a speedy process (6
years, perhaps), but it is possible. They have to be a USC to file an
I-129F for a K visa.

Quite right - I stan... er, sit corrected. It'll be quicker if he completes the citizenship process and then files to get his wife here.
