Question about 90 day deadline on K-1 Visa
Got to the US 2 months ago on a k-1 Visa. Got married 2 weeks ago. Can't file AOS
paperwork because I'm waiting for my birth certificate (from home) and a replacement
for NOA (lost: applied to INS for replacement).
Can someone explain to me what the deadline is for filing the AOS paperwork. How much
time do you have to file after you get to the US. I figure since I'm married and have
a marriage certificate I should be OK. Getting my BC & the NOA could take many
months!! Am I OK? Does anybody have any experience with this??
paperwork because I'm waiting for my birth certificate (from home) and a replacement
for NOA (lost: applied to INS for replacement).

Re: Question about 90 day deadline on K-1 Visa
I'm in roughly the same boat. I called the INS NCSC (1 800 375 5283) and asked just
that question (among others), and was told that someone who came in on a K-1 and
married is technically out of status, because it's a fiance(e) visa, and that
person is no longer a fiance(e). I was advised to file AOS as soon as possible
after marriage.
