Hi,All
My girlfriend and I are filing the F-1 visa aplication. Just a question
about proof of communication. She and I talk occasionally on the
phone,but,mostly everyday on Yahoo chat.Do I need to grab screen shots of
our chats,or,can i just copy the text of every chat as you can on Yahoo
chat?It may sound like a silly question,but,I dont know what may or may not
suffice for the people processing the application.Thanks to all in
advance..

Hi Tony,

Are you talking about the I-129F petition for fiance visa? If so, then you don't need to include any communication with that petition. Only proof that you've met in person within the past 2 years.

By the time of the interview, you might want to include a small sampling showing the fact that you chat, but I wouldn't give them a stack of paper.

why do u need correspondence proof for F1 visa?????? u dont need that.
u need proof of sufficient funds to cover your tution expenses and
stuff here in the USA (and a proof that u intend to come here study and
study only!)

now regarding the legitimacy of chat screen shots, i prefer to show
emails. i think emails are a more solid evidence and can be presented
easily with a print out. but again u dont need that for F1, unless u
meant other visa applications such as the fiance' visa.

I say go ahead and give them a stack of paper, including with the I-129f... perfectly organized, of course.

FWIW, we included 1-2 emails from each of us with our I-129F petition, as well as copies of cards that we sent to each other, and a copy of a card we got congratulating us on our engagement. These were all submitted as "proof of a genuine relationship." In addition we provided proof of having been together in person within the previous two years (photos, boarding pass, etc.). It did the trick.

I also think the OP is talking about the K1 and not the F1. If he IS talking about the F1, then he's obvioulsy confused and not even posting in the right forum.
